God's Direction, My Destination

For a long time, I had hoped to visit this place and meet fellow believers serving God in different communities. As we began the day with prayer and worship, I felt grateful to be part of what God was doing. I did not know then that this training would also become a personal reminder of God's calling for my life.

One lesson especially stayed with me. During the training, Sir Mike shared the story behind the medical practice of making "rounds." Doctors regularly visit their patients, even if only for a few minutes, because those visits often encourage healing and recovery.

That illustration deeply challenged me. Spiritually, many people are struggling, discouraged, or far from God. Just as doctors care for their patients, we are called to visit, encourage, pray for, and share God's Word with those who need Him. Jesus came to seek the lost, heal the broken, and bring hope to those who were spiritually dying. As His followers, we are invited to continue His mission by reaching out to others with His love.

The group discussions gave us another opportunity to learn from one another. As we listened to each other's stories, I realized that every believer faces challenges. Yet God's grace has sustained each of us through difficult seasons. Following Christ has never been easy, but His faithfulness gives us strength to keep moving forward.

Throughout the training, I sensed God speaking personally to me. He was calling me not to remain silent, but to step forward with courage. Regardless of my age or experience, He reminded me that He can use anyone who is willing to obey Him.

As a Mother Tongue Translator (MTT) serving with Wycliffe Philippines Umajamnon Translation Project, this training also strengthened my ministry. It enriched my understanding of the Bible, its history, and its context, helping me serve with greater confidence. I realized that Bible translation is not only about translating words. It is also about making disciples and helping people encounter God through His Word in a language they understand best.

The training became a wake-up call for me. God reminded me that now is not the time to become comfortable or inactive. Instead, He is calling me to move, to speak, and to faithfully share the good news of Jesus. Before doing so, however, I must continue to be equipped by His Word. Like soldiers preparing for battle, we need to be grounded in Scripture so that we can serve others with wisdom, humility, and love.

Jesus commanded His followers to make disciples of all nations. That mission continues today, and God is still working through ordinary people to accomplish His extraordinary purposes. Through this training, He renewed my burden for those who need spiritual encouragement and reminded me that every step of obedience can point others toward Him.
